Welcome to La Esquina Guatemalteca
La Esquina Guatemalteca — "The Guatemalan Corner" — is more than a restaurant. It's our family's way of sharing the authentic tastes, traditions, and warmth of Guatemala right here in Jupiter. Opened in December 2018, this has been my dream for over a decade: to bring homemade Guatemalan flavors to our community and create a place that feels like home for everyone who walks through the door.
A Family Passion Born in Guatemala
I'm Silvia Cano, originally from Huehuetenango, Guatemala. I learned to cook in the family restaurant of my husband Santos' mother, where every dish was made with love and intuition—no written recipes, just the perfect touch. When we moved to Jupiter with our young sons, Santos Cano Vasquez and William Cano, Guatemala came with us through the kitchen.
My boys may not remember much of the homeland—they were kids when we arrived—but they've always tasted it in the food I make. "It's literally all about her touch," William says. And Santos adds, "This really brings me happiness to see my worlds come together." Opening La Esquina Guatemalteca was my way of sharing that joy: authentic dishes like our famous churrasco, unique Guatemalan enchiladas (with cabbage, beets, and homemade tostadas), hearty soups, and sweet rellenitos—all tweaked fresh each day with the same family love.
Today, our whole family runs this place: Santos and I in the heart of it, with my wife and sons helping front-of-house. We're proud to serve neighbors, families, vacationers, and college students alike—creating a welcoming corner where everyone feels at home.

What Makes Us Special
We celebrate the real differences in Guatemalan cuisine—thicker tortillas, black beans, fresh hibiscus waters, clay-mug atole, and our signature La Parrillada platter. Everything is homemade, rooted in tradition, and served with the warmth of family. We're growing to bring more of that to you: expanded dine-in with our new cocktail bar, high-end catering for events at places like Frenchman’s Reserve, Jupiter Hills Club, Avenir, Mirasol, and Breakers West, plus our Guatamigos food truck ready for any gathering.
